EDUCATIONAL:
ZiBOT is a seriously educational product.
If you want to learn about robotics, programming robots
and programming microcontrollers (we use the very popular
PIC range of micro controllers), then ZiBOT is for you.
PROGRAMMABLE:
ZiBOT really is a fully programmable robot. You can program from scratch
or take advantage of our BOS (Bot Operating System).
There will also be a scripting language to enable beginners to get
straight into programming ZiBOT.
With the incircuit programmer you don't need to remove the microcontroller
to program the target board. Just plug in the programming header and
upload. (Serial Port and PC required)
BUILD:
You will need to be handy with a soldering Iron to make up the circuit
boards.

Initially we won't be offering a pre machined chassis.
However if you, or someone you know is handy with a jigsaw and a drill
using our stick on template it's easy enough to make your own chassis out
of aluminum, Plywood, pvc sheet..... erm any thing you can get your hands
on really. We'd like to encourage people to design there own chassis and
superstructure so we have lot's of very different ZiBOTs all over the
country.

FLEXIBLE:
ZiBOT is flexible. If you have motors, gearboxes, wheels, sensors etc. you
won't need to purchase these, just adapt your custom chassis to suit.
Motors need to conform to the driver spec. 4.5V - 15V, current 1A max and
power 2W max for each motor.
POWER SOURCE:
ZiBOT is rechargeable friendly, in fact we recommend
you use rechargeable batteries!
Requires one PP3 9V and four AA batteries.
